In this section of our website we have provided a brief explanation of what to expect in the event that you suffer a claim.
It is not, and should not be considered in any way, a guarantee of performance but simply a plain English explanation of what may happen if you need to make a claim under an aviation insurance policy.
For larger and more complex claims each claim is likely to be different although many of the roles described below will be familiar.
For non-aviation claims, there are numerous different approaches to handling claims – often the insurer will deal direct with you or it may be outsourced to a specialist claims handling organisation.
In as much as any two claims are similar, the principles described on the following pages are transferrable for all main types of claims, although we have focussed on describing aviation claims handling procedures.
