JLT publishes Gender Pay Gap Data
15 March 2018
Jardine Lloyd Thompson Group plc (JLT) one of the world's leading providers of insurance, reinsurance, and employee benefits related advice, brokerage, and associated services, has published information on its UK gender pay gap in line with the UK government’s Gender Pay Gap regulations.
JLT’s median pay gap is 35% and its mean pay gap is 44.1%, whilst its median bonus gap is 64.4% and its mean bonus gap is 75.8%. These figures are based in a snapshot of earnings taken in April 2017.
The data shows that JLT has a greater proportion of male employees than female employees in higher paid roles, best described as a ‘talent gap’.
JLT recognises the importance of continuing to improve the gender balance at senior levels in the UK, and is undertaking a number of positive actions and initiatives to promote gender equality across the business including:
- Graduate recruitment – continuing to broaden the talent pool to ensure that equal number of males and females are attracted to apply.
- Career Development - integrating inclusive leadership into all JLT’s senior development programmes whilst its global approach to performance management is deliberately designed to focus on forward looking career development.
- Talent development - ensuring an equal number of male employees and female employees are enrolled in JLT’s Emerging Leaders Programme which is designed to equip employees for more senior management roles.
- Gender balanced recruitment – requiring the best female candidates on every candidate list for senior recruitment.
Dominic Burke, Group CEO of JLT Group, said: ‘As with most organisations, JLT’s gender pay gap highlights the proportion of male employees versus female employees in senior roles. At JLT we are passionate about equality and are confident that we reward people fairly and equitably for the work that they do. This data reinforces the importance of our approach to ensuring everyone has equality of access to senior roles through our inclusive career development processes.
I want everyone at JLT to be the best that they can be.’
